How do I remove a light bulb from a porch light?
The bulb has been in fixture for a long time. It is possibly rusted in the fixture. Replacing the fixture would be one way, but I would like to try replacing the bulb first.

How do I remove stuck light bulbs from a bathroom fixture?
The last time I had to replace them they broke off, the bulb broke into pieces and separated from the socket
Use WD40 and spray into the threaded part with the straw that comes with it. Wait a while to let it work then try to unscrew the bulb.
Make sure the switch is off, gently break the bulb( maybe put a plastic bag around b4 u break it to catch the glass) then take a pair or 2 of needle nose pliers, pinch tightly on the metal, just on the edge n turn it out! If the entire socket that its screwd into twists, use a monkey wrench gently to hold it while while turning bulb socket!
Hi Karen! I agree with you. We had a outdoor fixture with the same problem. We ended up having the unscrew four little screws on the four corners. You may want to try the lighting department at your hardware store and see if there is a similar type outdoor lamp. Ask for help in changing out bulbs. This is apparently a fairly common problem. Best of luck!
Turn the bulb off. Remove any glass cover. Wrap the light bulb in a dishcloth or old T-shirt. Try to unscrew the bulb. If it won’t come off, rub petroleum (Vasoline) around the bulb where it should be turning. Let it settle in. Then cover and try to take the bulb out again. If the bulb bursts, use a pair of pliers to help you get it all out. Clean out all the fixture and paint the fixture if you wish. And may your next light bulb last as long as the previous one. ☺️
