How to keep my oven's electrical socket dry from condensation?

In winter, moisture from whatever is cooking on the stovetop condenses on my backsplash and drips behind the oven onto my outlet, shorting out its circuit. What can I do? Any tips? Right now I put a paper towel in the gap (pictured) when I cook :-( Thanks!!

Thanks, The outlet is actually in the tile (which goes all the way down the wall behind the stove) so this would have to involve removing and reinstalling tile... something I was trying to avoid.

How bout one of those giant car wash sponges cut lengthwise and wedged behind your stove? Not a permanent fix, but should get you through the holidays. What you really need is a hood vent with a strong exhaust fan.

Have you tried Caulking the gap? Not sure by the picture, but I don't think you mean the stove top vents shown, do you?

car wash sponge great idea! Can't caulk in there as i need to sometimes be able to move the oven to clean behind.

Do you have a fan/vent over your stove? That would help, if you turn it on and draw the moisture out of your kitchen when your cooking.

Maybe try putting up a door insulation strip. Cut it to fit.
