My tall metal floor lamp no longer screws into the base securely.

The place where the tall metal pole and the heavy stand screw in together is stripped. It won't stay upright.

have you tried pipe thread tape? Feeding it tooth picks?Helpful Reply -

if you could show a photo I might be able to suggest something. What comes to mind without more information are 3 options: build a new base out of wood and secure the pole in using a tight fit, glue or some other method; replace the stripped screw section with a new section, threads intact or take the lamp to a GOOD hardware store with knowledgeable employees who could suggest another option.Helpful Reply -
