Toaster plug stuck in socket

I can't get the plug on my toaster out of the socket. What do I do?

The spades on a plug have holes that hold the plug in the outlet. Something loosened in the outlet and jammed the plug. If you are not good with working with electricity, call an electrician or call/go to your local Ace or hardware store, tell them what happened and they can advise you. The breaker for the outlet will need to be turned off. The cover will need to be unscrewed, then the outlet will need to be disconnected and replaced. Then the breaker can be turned on. Take a hammer and pound the outlet with the stuck plug to break it apart to remove the plug. Check the plug for any damage that may have caused it to get stuck.

Cut off the electricity going to the toaster, get a pair plyers and give it a good yank.

William is right, turn off the breaker then take off the cover then the take out the rec. and breaker the rec with a hammer. my guess is it got too hot because of a short in the rec. and you will need to replace the plug on the toaster.

iF you can turn off the breaker, then I've read one could use a cut in half potato to "grip" the end of the thing stuck in the socket, and pull it out using that potato half. Hope this helps

Ensure that you have cut off the electricity supply by seeing if your toaster is still working or not. Then and only THEN start sliding a plastic fork or old credit card behind the plug and gently ease it away from the socket. You could use a metal knife, but YOU MUST HAVE ENSURED THAT THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY TO THE SOCKET IS DEAD.
