Can a older veneer dresser be refinished that has some damage?

    Of course. From your question I don't know what you are seeking but I'll give it a shot. Current fashion is to use something called "chalked" paint that you buy at your paint or hardware store. If you have veneer lifting, just use wood glue and a little weight to seal it back down. After proper surface prep, cleaning and sanding, you paint then lightly sand some of the edges to let the old finish show through. Finish with paste wax and it will appear that you wanted it to look all anteeky instead of just avoiding buying new furniture. The missing veneer patches (I assume that's what you mean by "damage") help sell the look. .

    Do u think u could remove the veneer? I've do this on a couple dressers and just painted them!
