Hi I want to add 2 shelves to the missing drawer spaces but not sure how to. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to start this project? Thank you for your help.

Just need to attach a 1x1 frame all the way around the inside with glue and screws where you want the shelf. Put your new shelf on and you got it. Good luck.

Glad you posted a picture! You can either drill some holes not all the way through but far enough for it to hold some shelf pins here is a picture.

Sorry it's so big! I would leave the existing strips of wood that is already in place and put a piece of stained wood on each of those. For a lower shelf, use the pins above and drill 2 holes on each end (2 on one side 2 on the other) put your pins in and add your shelf on the pins. The key to doing this is measuring correctly. Use a level if you have one. The two holes on the left have to line up with the two holes on the right or your shelf will not sit right. I hope this explanation helps!
