How do you repair pedastle to soapstone table? Broke cleanly into.

Do you have a picture of the pedestal. I will tell you generally, you drill holes in the broken pieces opposite each other on a piece and insert small copper rods, then epoxy the rod in one side of the break. Then you put epoxy in the holes on opposite side and along the break. This is 2 part epoxy, so mix up a fresh batch for each side. Position the broken piece onto the rods and matching the crack, wipe excess off, and tape strongly in place to dry. It might help to lay on one side so you don't have gravity working against you.Helpful Reply -
