How to fix a vanity that has a peeling cracked laminated coating ?

My bathroom vanity cabinet doors and drawers have a peeling cracked laminated coating. The underneath I think is presented. I'm not sure whether I should try to remove the rest of the plastic laminated and try to paint or to repair the cracks - help please
