How to test handheld electric recliner remote?

My Catnapper Soother Is stuck in the recline positions. The transformer light is on and the remote buttons works for the massage, heat and recline. How can I get it back to the upright position manually and how can I test the pins on the remote to see if it is actually the remoter up button. I have searched all over the internet for a replacement remote MLSK55-A1 in the USA to no avail. Jackson furniture said to contact seller and sell wants top dollar to come out and trouble shoot and then another charge to come back with the part. It's my mom's chair and money is an issue. I would like to try to fix this for her.

Hello. What a frustrating upsetting situation. I hope you find a solution here. There might be some possibilities on Amazon. Have you checked all the selections there for proper pin connection compatibility? Hoping there might be generic substitution if your corporate business cannot provide a replacement piece.

Hi Marion, power recliners come equipped with a back-up battery that allows the user to return the seat to its original position in the event of a power shortage. Power recliners cannot be used manually as the motor is intended to do all of the moving. Hope this video helps you out,

Had the same problem with my recliner. But determined that my problem was the motor on the unit it died. But if that is the problem with yours you can order a new unit at amazon but they only appear to carry the units that are in stock if the unit is discontinued that could be a problem for you. Check the motor they are marked with a name and serial number for easy ID.
