Any ideas on how to protect the walls from the rocker part of a rocking chair from damaging the walls when someone is using the rocking chair?

Put a strip of chair molding on your walls. Works like the strips on the side of your car so to help getting no door dents. You can find chair molding in Home Depot or Lowe's. When needed it won't be job to change. If you have a place for dry storage you might consider buying a extra strip of molding to keep on hand. If you have a garage you can take three food cans that are open on both ends and cleaned and nail them on the rafters spaced apart and in a roll. You can store your molding in the cans off the floor. It's nice if you have a can opener that open cans from the side braking just the seal. No sharp edges. Hope this helps!

Have you thought about putting some kind of padding on the rocker?

Hi Kelly, I agree with both comments. A nice chair rail will save your walls and some sort of felt or padding will help with both the walls and the chair from any further damage.

  • How about pulling the rocking chair away from the wall when in use?
