How can I fix a saggy sofa?

    Does your sofa have zippers on the cushions? If so, you can add fiberfill or foam to fill them up nicely. If they don't have zippers, you can open a seam wide enough so you can add filler then sew seam back up by hand using same color thread as fabric. Be sure to use strong thread.

    I used wire ties. Go to Lowe’s and get a big bundle of long wire ties from the electrical department. Turn the sofa over and remove the dust shield. Now run the wire ties under two rows of squiggly springs. Pull like heck and do it over and over again. I ran both straight across and diagonally. This fills in the butt-sprung area and helps the springs support each other. Bonus, all the change in the sofa is yours for the hard work.

    If you want, you can restaple the dust shield, but I just turned mine back up. No one ever looks at the bottom of the thing anyway.
