Camp Dry by Kiwi is the best I have found. I spray my husband's work boots and they clean up with a damp microfiber cloth.
I’ve used scotch guard on the fabric ottoman in my bedroom, and it has kept it protected really well.

Sorry such a long link. I just pasted and cut from Amazon!! Thompsons fabric seal! Scotchguard will work too but I think you have to spray quite a bit to get it to really protect from the dirt. The fabric seal may change the texture....read instructions to be careful with that. The scotchguard probably won't change the texture.
I think you’re on the right track with Scotchguard. Maybe you could use a slip cover when it’s in use and remove it when it’s not.
I agree Scotchguard. Been used forever.
Scothguard does not affect fabric or color.
Thanks for all the tips. Your responses lead me to investigate beyond Scotchguard and consider a HD product called Vectra (non toxic) , look at the HD videos .... you can see that although spills don't bead up , yet appear to come up with gentle blotting and others report undetected spills came up with a bit of moisture and blotting.
Side note, if you do find future stains on the ottoman, you can clean up light colored fabrics with half hydrogen peroxide and water solution. I just fill a dollar store spray bottle half way with water and the rest of the way with hydrogen peroxide and it has worked wonders in the past for me!!! I live on a lake, with two dogs, two boys and have a white couch, honestly not one of my best ideas... But, the hydrogen peroxide solution works every time and it gets better as it dries.
Scotch gard in a can works great
