What can i put on my new round wooden dining table to prevent damage?

    You can have glass cut to fit the table, or just use a table cloth or pad.

    If you have glass or acrylic cut to fit the table, make sure to put small felt pads so the wood and top aren't touching.


    I added a couple of coats of polyurethane to mine. I love the way it looks almost wet but you can also go with a satin finish.

    Hi Elvira,

    I use a pad and a tablecloth, like Dee. The table I have is over 50 years old and it still looks beautiful. Occasionally, I will remove the pad and tablecloth to feed the wood with oil. I use plain vegetable oil but there are wood oils on the market that will also work. I'll wipe it on, let it sit for a while, then wipe of any excess and polish it with a soft cloth. The table looks brand new. Sometimes for special dinners I will take off the pad and tablecloth and use place mats so that the beauty of the table can be enjoyed. Before I put the pad back on, I clean and oil the table as described above. Wishing you the best!

    I would put a waterproof new table cloth on it first then reg table cloth then thick vinal over both O’Leary’s keep coverd
