How to repair worn out arms on upholstered linen arm chair?
What to do with the arms of a linen Louis XIV chair that are worn.? I like the exsisting fabric but now one is worn down to the padding.

Reupholster them is the only way I know of fixing this. You may be able to find new fabric if the chair is an antique.
Inspect this chair all over. Many times there is enough excess fabric on the bottom of the seat, back, etc to get a few inches of fabric to 'patch' the arms. If not, take the seat cushion to a fabric store to see if you can color and fabric match close enough to the original. Don't forget you can 'tea stain' new fabric to age it for a better match.
There is plenty of fabric, the person quoting me just did not want to use it. The bottom of the cushion and under the cushion has fabric. See above reply I might tackle it myself and if I can't get it done I will bite the bullet and look for another person to do it for me. Thank you for answering me.
