Hello. I suggest that you read reviews and user commentary before attempting any concrete crack repair products . We have a newer concrete driveway and tried most of the hardware store repair products as well as the $20 epoxy caulk tube type filler and were totally dissatisfied with the results. We found that now not only did they not correct and fill the crack they made the driveway appearance with worse. Buyer beware —-Wish I knew this before our attempts at repair.
Concrete cracks cannot be patched with concrete since concrete contains aggregate rock pieces that are too large to fit in cracks. Instead, for cracks up to 1/2-inch wide and 1/4-inch deep, you should use a polymer-based (sanded acrylic-latex) filler that you inject into the crack with a caulking gun and smooth over with a putty knife.
We did this when our concrete patio cracked. It didn't match perfectly but closed the gap and made it safer.
I found that the material shrinks slightly so wait a few days and apply one extra layer or application.
Getting a top layer that is smooth is key. Don't be a idiot like me and think you can smooth this out with your finger (dumb right?). A putty knife or even a stiff piece of cardboard works much better.
Good luck and let us know how this turns out!!!
I used the concrete repair in a caulking tube for my patio 5 years ago and it is still holding up well. Sikaflex sealant will fill in and seal the areas. Sashco makes a filler, 16210 Slab Concrete Crack Repair Sealant, that has good reviews.
Home Depot sells Congress patch in a bucket or you could mix your own with concret, lye.sand but it’s easer to buy all done then if the whole is big get a cement pastry bag to fill in then patch holes with putty knife use a small 2 inch knife
