How do I seal my painted mailbox?
I painted a plastic mailbox with acrylic paints. What is the best way to seal it to protect it from the elements outside? Do I use polyurethane?I was thinking a spray acrylic followed by polyurethane. Any suggestions? Has anyone done this before?

Janet...I agree with your idea...I have not done but I believe you are right on! It really is a great job...did you freehand...you are GOOD!
Beautiful mailbox! I would put 2 coats of the acrylic sealer. There is a satin or matte clear coat spray for vinyl/ plastic. I bought it at ace hardware.
go with a waterproof polyurethane, but be sure you get a non-yellowing formula Varathane makes several varieties -- check with the sales person and read the labels -
I agree with everyone above. Beautiful box - and keep it that way with a coat of anything that says UV resistant and outdoors on the label.
