There are vinyl siding repair kits, but I don't know how well they work. Check them out online and see if any appeal to you. Is it possible that the mower kicked up pebbles to cause the siding damage? I've seen a mower fling a pebble with enough velocity to break a window or dent a car.
But if you think it's a BB gun, that's possible. A neighbor we once had liked to shoot squirrels and raccoons, and he broke windows or damaged siding in nearly every one of his neighbors' homes, some quite a distance away. He only stopped when someone called the police on him.
There is vinyl siding caulk, exterior caulking, and vinyl siding repair kits you can buy at stores like Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
I'd try caulk that color?!!
I have never had to face this, but I see from looking on line that this must be a problem for people with vinyl.
I am attaching the link below that not only gives help on getting someone out to do this, but videos on how to do it yourself.
HINT: If you are replacing some sections, go to the back of the house and get "aged" sections that will match the front better than new pieces. Get these from the bottom where the eye does not immediately land. Then replace these removed "aged" pieces with new ones.

Latex caulk!
Use OSI Quad caulk the same color as your siding. You can get it at Lowe's, Home Depot, or any siding supply warehouse. Actually replacing the damaged pieces is the best way, but expensive.
I've used bond before then painted to match. Worked well
That's bondo
Hail is vinyl siding's Achilles Heal. That looks like hail damage. You will need to replace the damaged pieces.
