Cant unscrew water pipe

I am trying to replace anti-siphon hose bib. It appears someone put something on threads preventing me from budging pipe. Any idea house to soften whatever it is? Dents are from vise grip trying to turn pipe.

If you can safely heat the pipe with a torch get it red hot and then put cold water on it. It will shock it and loosen it, should then be able to unscrew it.
