That is truly a job for a professional. You don't want to play around and have the water leaking and cause you to have repairs thousands of dollars more than replacing the tub.
What is the tub made of?
occasionally an insert can be made to fit in the existing tub. bath fitters I think was the company name. the new is usually acrylic ….not metal.
