My son broke off the bottom corner of his toilet tank. I have the porcelain corner and wondered if that flex seal would fix it. I’ve let it air dry for 24 hours so that it’s nice and dry. My husband doesn’t know and I’m trying to get it fixed because not any toilet will fit on the seal. It has to be special ordered and is very expensive. So any all ideas would be amazing! ~ Straight flushed in Alabama

      Ok, interesting story. Your toilet itself may be special but the flange it sits on is standard. If need be you can replace the toilet, and they do not need to cost a lot of money.

      Try the flex seal, you have nothing to lose by trying.

    You have to replace the seal when you install a new toilet anyway, so that really shouldn't be an issue.

      The wax seal is not the issue it has something to do with fitting and bolting to the floor. It’s a special size that toilets available today won’t work

    I found two different answers for you:

    A potter simply cannot refire a broken pot and make it whole again. The only way to restore such an object is by using "cold materials and process". The first step to fix broken pottery or a ceramic object is by mending the pieces with two-part epoxy adhesive.

    Repairing a hairline crack involves using silicone plumbing epoxy on the inside of thetank. Drain the tank completely, using towels to remove all excess moisture. Let thetoilet stand for a day or two with the lid off. The inside of the tank must be completely dry before applying the epoxy.

      Maybe buy me some time. Till pay day. Toilet is very expensive special order due to bolt size or something like that. We don’t have credit cards

    Just replace the toilet. You will always fight the old one.

    You can glue the corner back on.... but it will probably leak... if not right away... then eventually.... you might be able to find a tank to replace it at a salvage yard... but unless it is the same manufacturer and model type.. it will leak .... for best results.... just replace it.
