How to unclog a drain stopped up with powder washing machine soap?

The drain was stopped up by the previous owner when she repeatedly used
powder washing machine soap. The plumber told us that since the drain that was installed was only 2 inched in diameter he did not have an auger small enough in unclog it. Any suggestions out there? This drain was only used for the washing machine and emptied into a dry well.

Use white vinegar. Pour between 1 and 4 cups down. Let sit overnight. Repeat as necessary. Good luck.
Don't know how far down this clog is... can't imagine the plumber didn't use a snake. That's what I would try after pouring in some boiling water.
Your plumber's story smells a little. Augers/plumber's snakes come in all sizes.

The boiling water and vinegar worked for me on my shower. It may take you a couple of tries but it works.
Dig out what you can and then run machine in hot wash.
