How can I unclog my sink?

Please help! My bathroom sink is stopped up. I loosened the pipe from the sink and tried to run a snake threw it. But it won't go all the way through. Help.

The first thing I would try would be some strong drain cleaner. Follow the directions on the bottle, of course. Then I might follow up with a plunger.

When you ran the snake did you twist and turn it while pushing it through?! Most snakes have a spring auger and needs to be twisted/turned while pushing to bite through the clog.

put a little dish soap down the drain first (depending on the clog) dont stir up the water, but let it work it's way down...it will. then snake or plunge as needed.

Try some baking soda and vinegar to see if you can natural clear a bit of the residue up first. Do this a couple of times but give it an hour or so in between tries.

Baking soda - lots - then pour in vinegar (as mentioned above), LET IT SIT overnight, then plunge. Repeat if necessary. When my bathroom sink clogs, though, the problem is hair (and loads of soapy gunk) around the push-up piece (the sink plug). I detach it from below and clean it well. Sounds like your problem is farther down - so baking soda and vinegar.
