What's the easiest way to remove caulking from outside the bathtub?

I have a bathtub/shower combo and the caulking between the shower trim and the tub is beginning to look dark and old. I want to remove it and would like to know if there's an easy way to do that.

Thank you, Gail. I was hoping there was a liquid that would just dissolve it, but guess not!

You can use a utility knife or putty knife, slicing through the caulk and peeling it away. For multiple layers of caulk, needle-nosed pliers might work best. There are also specialized caulk removal tools designed to tear away caulk cleanly.

Krud Kutter Caulk Remover has a gel-like consistency that clings to the surface of the caulk and stays wet for a long period of time. Caulk removers help to ease the removal of nearly all types of caulks, including silicone, polyurethane and acrylic latex.
