40 yr old mirror. Spots on mirror side. Can they be repaired?

I placed a dark piece of material to help see it better in picture. Any help is appreciated

Might be going blind and needs to be re silvered. Can get expensive. Your local glass and mirror shop can help you out. There are DIY spray kits, but they will not achieve the same results.

I agree with Naomie. It is expensive, and it is hard to do properly. If it has sentimental or heritage value, I would consult an expert.

Well, you can love it like it is or have it resilvered. If there are scratches on the front of the glass, they will probably show more. I resilvered an antique mirror back in the 70s and it still looks great.

You would need to strip the whole mirror or use clean glass.
