Hi GIgi, Sounds to me as the material is degrading, Not sure what you can do! maybe moisturiser or something like Mod Podge to try and hold it!

My little girl is 62 ish and her vinyl got all glossy and sticky. I was told by a doll collector that she was breaking down. Well, short of having her head cast and re-molded I want to keep her going so I took some corn starch and rubbed it on her face. It did the trick and absorbed all the glossy stuff and she is well again. Whenever the shine comes back I do it again.
