Hi GIgi, Sounds to me as the material is degrading, Not sure what you can do! maybe moisturiser or something like Mod Podge to try and hold it!

Thank you for responding,,,, Unfortunately, these aren't going to be beneficial :'( I wish I would have had a daughter, grand-daughter to just give it to,, Although,, this doll is only 0ld years old. I have kept very good care of it,, until recently I notice the skin is rather sticky,,

Thank you again for taking the time to help..

My little girl is 62 ish and her vinyl got all glossy and sticky. I was told by a doll collector that she was breaking down. Well, short of having her head cast and re-molded I want to keep her going so I took some corn starch and rubbed it on her face. It did the trick and absorbed all the glossy stuff and she is well again. Whenever the shine comes back I do it again.

Gigi, it last a good amount of time. The corn starch doesn't really show, but I do wipe my baby off before reapplying the corn starch. My girl has a plastic body and a vinyl head and so far our only problem is the vinyl. I hope this works for you.
