Any ideas to redo this lamp?
This 4 foot tall lamp shade is made of paper and totally impractical in a house with a 12 year old soccer player. I don’t like it but it’s a perfect fit for our living room.
Any ideas on how to redo the ripped shade? The structure of the shade is made out of what I can describe as paper wire. I was thinking a couple of embroidery hoops and cool sheer fabric. Any other ideas would be awesome. Thanks to everyone!

Hi Sabrina! I was thinking of a light weight cotton or cheesecloth. You could drape it around the shade, pin, glue or sew it in place. I think heat wouldn't be a factor since the current cover is paper, and there is no contact between the cover and the bulb. You could continue with the current color or do something fun.
Hi there Sabrina, vellum is a nice medium and comes in a lot of different patterns.

could you order a new shade from the mfg?
Maybe use a few different thin sheer scarves in pretty colors and cut to size and wrap and glue so there are bands or stripes of different colors or patterns? Looking forward to seeing what you end up doing with it!
