Both answers before this will provide a better outcome than mine however, if you're desperate and don't have time for either of those, you can always try purchasing matching duct tape and taping over the hole on the inside to help minimize the obviousness of it.

How big is the hole, and where exactly on the boot is it?

  Oh dear, that is big. I was thinking that if the hole was smaller, or higher up on the boot shaft, trim could be sewn or glued over the hole, on the same place on both boots.
