Hello Mshipman, I've never had to get scratches out of glass, but I would imagine it's pretty much the same to remove them from sliding glass doors as it is from car windshields. Here are some videos dealing with each:

You can use a glass etching liquid and buff some of them out. I did it with eyeglasses and they came out fine. Use a soft, old t-shirt to do this.
A baking soda toothpaste buffed on and wiped off should work. Not the gel type, but the paste.
