I have a window located inside my shower. Is there a way to protect the sill from water damage?

Our tile guy picture framed the window with a slab of polished marble or travertine.

hang a shower curtain-you will have to cut and trim it to size--make sure you put the curtain rod high enough to keep water out

You can also use PVC or foam molding around the window and sill. Cheaper than stone/tile and paintable.

A former landlord had windows in all the bathrooms of the duplexes he owned. Said he didn't have a problem with woodwork rotting once he started giving all exposed surfaces an annual coating of marine varnish. I was in my unit 8 years and the window frame looked lovely the entire time & never once had a curtain on it.

    Maybe cover it with Contact?

Hi Ire: You can replace it with either a marble or faux marble sill and use silicone to seal the seam. Or, you can use a small plastic curtain that covers the window and sill and close it when you shower. Painting it with an oil type paint or marine varnish will help, also.
