paint the wall with a semi gloss paint, it's much easier to clean than flat paint. You could also cover the wall with formica. Lots of patterns and I think it comes in sheets large enough to cover the wall in one piece.

You could buy an old headboard that is decorative and attach to the wall. You can tile the wall.

Laminate lock together flooring can be installed vertically across the wall.

Or old shutters can be put up with an old window in the middle.

Hey- find a cool print contact paper that LOOKS like wallpaper! Easy to clean, and easy to remove in future if your tastes change.

Fake brick or fake stone would look sharp and doesn't show fingerprints. they have wallpaper that looks just like stone or brick and it's peelable. You can find it online, just look it up at any home depot or Menards type of store. Good luck

Paint with a good satin paint color-matched to your walls, should do it. Flat paint never holds up in busy areas.

Try Contact paper, it washes up clean, and you can use white toothpaste to get the scuff marks off.

I had this same problem at out back door and my neighbor said to paint with satin washable paint, which I did and use a magic eraser sponge and I’ll be darn problem solved and I keep and lable my paint can by room for touch ups, and my home looks always freshly painted now.
