Tip: I Always Buy Silk Flowers and "plant" Them in the Moms Planters.

Both my mother and mother-in-law have brick planters built onto their front porches. You can put real flowers in them, but both of them are too elderly to care for anything. I get silk flowers at Dollar tree and plant them twice a year, spring/summer and Christmas. The flowers last about two years if swished in soapy water. My mother still has some real flowers in her backyard, that I get to take care of. But I'll do whatever gives her joy at this stage of her life and as long as she can stay in her own home.
