I lived in New Smyrna Bch, FL. I totally loved it, but I am a seasonal person NOW. The heat and humidity can get overwhelming. We now live in VA. and it is seasonal. We have the best of both worlds. Spring is gorgeous, Summer IS HOT AND HUMID, but we have a pool. Fall is that smell and breeze. All 4 seasons and the winters by noon, are in the 50's and jacket weather. I won't say it doesn't freeze, occasionally and yes occasional, but rare snow. I won't leave here, unless they throw me out, literally!!! ;))) It is a beautiful state and A LOT to see and do. The beach is 2 1/2 hrs. away and everything is within a half hr. away. VERY clean state!!Helpful Reply -

I was born in Tampa, Florida and I love it. I have traveled to other states. Got to say to The duke that VA. is beautiful, had some in laws there. I make regular trips to either the beach or Disney. I live 2 miles from Busch Gardens in Tampa.Helpful Reply -

Hay, The duke, I lived in Orlando for 11 years, about 3 miles from Disney and 1 mile from Sea World. Orlando is a clean city. My daughter lives on Merrit Island near the Cape. Her husband is working with a company who works with NASA on the Mars project. I will go over there and stay with them sometimes in the summer. The beaches there are a little different then the beaches here on the Gulf. I guess you know that. The waves are higher and more powerful, and being the east coast, of course, you are looking at a sun rise instead of a sun set over the water. I am an artist so I would get out my camera and try to capture just the right moment to put on canvas.Helpful Reply -
