How do I tile a bathtub to make into a shower?
My tub has tile on the wall only a couple feet above the tub itself I want to tile the whole area to make a shower. Do you think I need to put different backerboaed up? Or can I take the old tile off and start with new tile?

Will you be removing the tub? Removing the tile can cause some damage or adhesive will remain. Best to remove down to the studs and start fresh. New tile backer board and new tile.
Took entire tub and surround out at my house, went down to studs and put in new backer board then new tile then added a sliding glass door because I did not have room for a swing out door. Love my shower. Good luck.
When your bathroom was built, chances are it's not waterproofed with greenboard. You really need to bring the room up to code and use the correct products. Better safe than sorry!
Ok thanks yall
You should use cement backer board behind all of the tile.
