I have original 1965 pink octagon tile in my bathroom, can I lay new porcelain tile over it, or do I need to remove it all first? It is still in good condition.

Hi Janet, you can paint the tile, easier than putting down new tile. Hope you will try this. Good luck. Floor Tile Paint? Yes, You Can Paint Floor Tiles! Here's How. | Curbly
How to paint a tile floor: Clean the tiles and grout thoroughly with TSP cleaner using water and a mop. Be sure to open all the windows and set up fans. Working in small sections, apply the primer to the grout with a brush and to the tiles themselves with a long handled roller. Let the primer dry completely.
Hi again Janet the easiest way again is to remove the old tile I know it sounds a little Strang saying that but if you lay tile on tile at one place or another the seams will match up and that is a cracking point in time. You really need to put down backing board and then thin set ( glue )and then the tile. again its not the cheapest way but it is the best I would pick option 2. Patrick
It's best to remove it. It will be difficult because it may have a layer of cement and razor wire under it. Make sure that you have a good set of work gloves and wear long sleeves and pants to try to protect your arms and legs. But once it's gone, you'll have a clean slate to work with. You'll be able to check for mold and water damage from leaks that were not noticed. Use green board on the walls, except the tub/shower area. That area should have cement board.
