Just a follow-up thought. The ceramic tile has no practical value as lawn edging but you could install it attached to real lawn edging ONLY if you are using the ceramic as a design statement.

I don't see why you couldn't use ceramic tile as edging for your garden. If you're afraid it won't last, perhaps you can apply the tile onto boards so that the unfinished part is then more protected. I think it would look absolutely gorgeous! And I'm for anything that saves filling up our landfills! I say go for it!
