I cut off the top portion of milk jugs and use them to seal an open bag. Just today I made rice to go with our supper and I sealed the bag of rice after I cut it open by snipping off the corner. Just feed the bag up and over the threaded milk jug and seal with the lid. Keeps bagged food fresh. Another idea: We used to live in a neighborhood where everyone on our block decorated outdoors for Christmas. I fed Christmas lights thru the milk jugs. One light per jug, Just cut a couple notches in the threaded part for the wire to enter and exit the jug. Put a little sand in the jug so it doesn't blow over. The milk jugs magnified the lights for a brilliant display. At night our street was beautiful. I stored all the milk jugs in the attic of our garage.
