How do I use beer bottle caps on a table top?

I want to make a table or similar project for my son out of beer bottle caps. Also thought of coasters as well. Any suggestions?

I did this table using beer caps and tiling grout. Big mistake I didn't seal the caps first. When they kit the wet grout and then rain they went rusty. I did seal the top with varnish but rain still penetrated. I had to redo my table. So don't go without and seal the caps first.
You can make coasters or make a state sign & use caps to fill in
