How can I upcycle these two futons to fit a small living room?

The two pieces would be going inside of the living room. It's very small with very very little space and the two arms on the two armrest are adjustable.
This is one of the two pieces that I have again are adjustable arm rest and they have like a little hole to give it a backing butt I removed the pole on the other one.

    1. I would get cushions that fir the frame exactly - having the mattress part spill over gives it more of a b"beddy" feel 2. Get a, um, I forget what it is called, but a "curtain" for the bottom of the futon, to make it look like it goes all the way to the floor, giving a more "couchy" feel. Not sure that is what you want, but I hope it helps!

Is it possible to put the two futons beside each other, with the arm down on one side of the couch. I can't really tell from the photo but is there a bookcase beside the couch, would it be possible to move it somewhere else? I know all too well about moving furniture around in small spaces. I'm not sure if this is the answer you're looking for, but i hope maybe i've helped some.

Put them in an L shape. With new cushions you will have a totally new look.

I love this idea, all of the furniture Ive been looking at, are the exact style. I really could use more details.... But right now some really good cushions are in order and color.... Whats your color idea....? Something fun and fresh

Boy there are so many possibilities. You could cut two piece of plywood the length of your futon one the width of back (full length of futon) one the width of seat. Then cut two pieces of foam ( one the length / width of the seat and one the length / width of the plywood you cut. Find yourself some fabric you love and buy enough to cover both with foam / plywood ( you will be gluing the foam to the plywood before covering them. ) you can leave the arms on or have them removed. I would remove them giving more options of arranging the furniture and adding extra pieces. You could make a chaise out of the other one with arms and ack removed and using the same idea above. I would have like to have seen the room they are going in better to know where doorways were and such. Using a"L" shape only works well if the furniture fits snug together. But you could just build up the cushion up a bit with foam and cover with an adorable slip cover. If I was going to this I accually would probably just use duct tape to attach the foam since it is not going to be seen. I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

I had a similar problem. I think that putting them in an L shape would work. It gives you space and is very functional in a smaller space.

Try re-stuffing the cushions and painting them with a fabric paint in the color you choose. There are several articles on Hometalk that show how to paint fabric.
