How do I preserve a piece of tree trunk so I can use it as decoration?
I have a couple of very unique pieces of tree trunk. How do I preserve these so they keep their bark and stay beautiful and unique forever? What is the best way to clean them and preserve them?

Let them "season" or cure until thoroughly dry. Setting in the sun is best. You can leave them in their natural state or spray with a sealer.
Thank you. The two pieces I have are very dry. Do you have recommendation on a sealer that won't turn yellow over time?
Hi Mary Jo, If the wood is completely dry, I like to give use Hemp Oil. It will nourish the wood and provides a nice protective coating on the wood while it still looks natural. I usually put two coats of Hemp oil on all of my wood leaving a day between coats. It will feel oily at first but will start to dry out after a day or two. Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint makes a great Hemp Oil. It is my go to for any wood or painted surface and will never turn colours. Btw, you just rub it on with a clean, lint free cloth so super easy to use :)
