How can I repurpose my Mom's antique sewing machine table?

Old sewing table that housed the machine by swinging down inside the table. Two drawers on one side. The extension leaf flips over to cover the dropped machine. Sewing machine is gone. I don't sew.

sounds just like my sewing machine. Is yours a Singer? Mine is very straight lined with a chair that goes with it. Very utilitarian looking. Unless I really needed an additional table I would not try to convert this. But if necessary: 1) remove hinge from "flip over" and permanently attach leaf to where hole (that once housed machine) is. Paint the whole thing a very nice bright color. It could be a night table, a small desk, or an end table.
