How to repurpose wooden paper towel holder?

Any clever ideas for all or part of this wooden paper towel holder? (The blue tape is just holding the screws.)

Hello, you could cut different size pieces of pvc pipe and attach around the wooden dowel and cover them in pretty paper and use it for pens etc.

We didn't get a picture.... that would help a lot. Do you have a craft area you could use it in? You could use it for storing ribbons, twine. Good luck.
