Drill holes in the bottom and make it a focal point with assorted annuals or perennials.
it really depends on your taste or décor but I found this example of painting with stencils that looks really interesting.
You can paint the exterior of the tub To complement your house colors. Are you thinking of using it for a planter? You could put a trellis in it for climbing plants, bright colors in front of the trellis -zinnia, coneflower, black eyed Susan and a draping plant going over the side of the tub, creeping Jenny or wave petunia. You could also use it as a cooler for a party.
This is a long-standing tradition! Bury the tub .standing up in the ground so it is vertical. The front or more rounded end of the tub, sticking out of the ground creates a niche for placing a (religious) statue (check "Bathtub Madonna" on google), as a background for a fountain or grotto, or to display a collection of succulents or other plants! Have fun!
thank you for the ideal
thank you that trellis is more that I had in my mind
I love this question. I would stencil or freehand painted flowers on it then plant leafy green plants in it. If you can't drill holes in the bottom of the tub make sure you put rocks in the bottom before you put soil In it.
This is what I got when I googled your question. It will give you lots of ideas. Holmes on Homes once tipped one over, filled it with soil like the flowers were coming out of the tub sideways. It was very cool. Hope this helps.

I had a beautiful old claw foot tub in my old house. I put it in the corner of my yard as is and then filled it with dirt and plants. I put a birdbath right next to it and a chair. It was the most peaceful area in my house!
