Julie, that sounds like a beautiful plan! Would an opening at the top of your screen be a problem? If you dont't like the open look, perhaps you would have enough space to fill and could add a decorative grill work or frame in for some decorative glass panels? If the screen is already hinged you can buy the hardware and tracking for a bifold door at most hardware stores.
