I don’t know of a lot of things that you can do, but using them as storage containers for little objects, sewing boxes, store batteries in them. Maybe cover with cloth and use them to put gifts in.

My husband requested that I put his ashes in a Maxwell House coffee can when he died. This was because Maxwell House coffee was the favorite of his grandfather, whom he loved very much. So I did. They are now in my closet waiting to be scattered on Maui.
If you have kids, join the boxes together to make a tunnel for the kids to crawl through. :)
