If they are large enough you can build planter boxes out of the wood.

Depending on the size, you can make some drink coasters for your patio table (like if they are just slices of wood) or you could use them to edge a garden area or walkway

We also had left over bits. They were used to make a small potting table. I painted it purple for it's 18th year.

You don't have to decide on anything right away, just don't throw them out! I have a good collection of left over boards/studs and I'm always going through it to find just the thing I need for a project. I'm getting ready to use pieces 2/4s to attach to the wall header in my unfinished addition because my friend who said he knew what he was doing didn't leave enough room under the notched-out rafters to nail the paneling to!

@JoAnn Dibeler That is my solution. There will come a day when they come in handy.

I wouldn't use them for anything like birdhouses or planters for edibles due to possibility of leaching chemicals. I would look for some high end planter hacks that are available on many websites. If you would like more precise ideas send some approximate measurements of the pieces that you have.

Place 3 together of different sizes, wrap rope around them and then drill a hole in the top of each and slide a solar stake light in each. I usually change the flowers on the front and the lights with each holiday. You can usually find at the dollar store lights for Christmas, Halloween, red white and blue, etc.

Plant coasters-if some are large enough, add small casters
  • I made coasters out of indoor samples, you could do the same with small pieces. https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2021/03/elegant-monogram-coaster-diy.html
