Bamboo is supposed to be hard and long lasting, so I think it would be fine in the bathroom. Our bathroom door stays open when no one is using it so it does not seem to be damp, which would be the only thing to concern you, I think. In the idea books they are using bamboo for a lot of things, so I would try it!
