What are the genders of the children?
You can cover a area, of cardboard, with a pretty pattern, then put items on them, to keep them colorful, for March. Like trees coming out in bud, or flowers beginning to bud, and then in April, you can use a diff. color of paper, before you put a diff. selection of items on them, or ideas. Good luck.
Depending on the age of children and the amount of cardboard you have, you might be able to make an indoor play fort that folds up when not in use. Cover the cardboard in fabric ( Whatever you have on hand or acquire cheaply, I used leftover landscaping burlap, paint or magic marker and crafting felt for details). Use Velcro strips to assemble the walls of the fort. To make hinges, use canvas or leather patches glued to the edges where door hinges would be. (An old worn-out belt makes a good set of hinges and a door latch handle with magnets ). For indoor play a roof isn't needed.
Make a puppet theatre.....or a regular stage background (use an old sheet to make the "curtain". We made forts and houses for ourselves and our dolls as a kid. Duct tape, postage tape (all available at the dollar store), creative cutouts....let the kids use their imagination and watch them blossom!
