What else can I do with my old sweater?

This sweater had a stain that I couldn’t remove so I decided to turn it into leg warmers for the winter! I used a stick on lace for some fun added detail (which I ended up hot-glueing). I’m getting in the grove with the “re-purposing”!

Looking forward to reading your responses!

use the body of the jumper to make a cushion. Or stretch it over a canvas for wall art. Or use it with others to start a quilt by cutting it into a square. Use the back as well. . Sleeves you could use as arm warmers, mittens, or just cut In the round and knit with the strips.Helpful Reply -

I used my old sweaters to make cozy pillow covers: http://obraznicaturi.com/how-to-turn-old-knits-and-yarns-into-cozy-pillow-covers/. I turned the sleeves into a cap and mittens for my kid: http://obraznicaturi.com/update-on-sweater-upcycling-cap-socks-and-mittens/. i still have a few pieces to use, and I was thinking about a cover for a flower pot.Helpful Reply -

I have a Yorkie dog and always have found the sweater/coats they sell in the Pet stores to be outrageous in price. I cut the sleeve to the length I want it . Fold in half with seam underneath the belly. From tail end of where the sweater will be, I curve the side slightly as to avoid pee stains. The wrist part of the sweater goes over his head, two slits for front legs to go through and wallah! New duds for the dog! Sweatshirts are amazing for this. Also my dog insists on having a sweater at all times. He's the boss!Just a thought.Helpful Reply -

I use old sweaters and t-shirts that have writing on them. Cut out the writing and make a quilt out of all of them that I collected by sewing them together. I am making two memorabilia quilts, so when our twins graduate they will have all of the sports they played in ( plus a few cartoons they enjoyed as really little guys). Then I use the rest of the material to make dog toys-by braiding 4-6 strips together tightly or use it for other craftsHelpful Reply -
