How do I install working door knobs in already installed slab doors?

I have 4 doors into which I need to install door knobs. All of these need privacy locks for bedrooms or bathrooms. Is there an easy way to do this, short of hiring the work out. Don't really have the funds to do that. These are all 6 panel, hollow core doors.

dont the door knobs have locks in them get knobs with locks or get a latch kind you could slide over you put up with screws
We're talking apples and oranges here. I need to install door knobs. I know they have different options: closet door, bedroom/bathrm door, entrance door. I have to drill the holes in the door and the jamb, and chisel out the indent for the latch assemblies on the door and jamb. Am sort of shaking in my boots over this one...
