
How do I refinish or replace wood sash on my windows?



My daughter's cat threw up on my window sills! It took the color out of the finish, leaving a lighter spots on my black walnut stained wood. What can I do?

Hi there, it sounds like you're going to have to sand it and stain it to get the colors to match again. If the spots aren't that large there are filler pencils and stain markers that you can use to patch the spots, but it might not be as seamless a look. Sand down , restrain, put on top coat. Do you know what type of finish is on them. Call manufacturer and get their suggestions.
You can sand, clean with TSP, and re stain. You might want to consider putting an inside/outside sealer on it and other wood surfaces to help prevent future issues.
